Vivo X Fold6 Launches in China With 7,000 mAh Battery and Dimensity 9500

Vivo X Fold6 launches in China with a 7,000 mAh battery, Dimensity 9500, and 200 MP camera. Global release confirmed for later this year.

Vivo released the X Fold6 in China, replacing the X Fold5 with a device that prioritizes battery life and raw processing power over slim profiles. This shift matters to buyers who find current foldable batteries insufficient for all-day use, as the new model packs a 7,000 mAh cell that dwarfs competitors. The phone targets users who need a durable, high-performance tablet experience in a foldable form factor without frequent charging interruptions.

MediaTek chipset and 200 MP camera define the new foldable flagship

The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, marking a departure from the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors found in many rival foldables. Vivo pairs this processor with a dual-display setup that includes a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen and an 8.02-inch foldable main display. This configuration allows the phone to function as a standard smartphone when closed while offering a tablet-sized canvas when opened.

Specifications

  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9500
  • Battery Capacity: 7,000 mAh
  • Charging Speed: 80 W wired, 40 W wireless
  • Cover Display Size: 6.51-inch AMOLED
  • Main Display Size: 8.02-inch foldable

Vivo claims the X Fold6 measures 9.4 mm thick, though the blue variant reaches 9.9 mm. The phone weighs 228 g for most color options and 235 g for the blue version. It carries an IP59 rating for dust and water resistance, which exceeds the typical IPX8 standards seen in many competitors. These physical specs position the X Fold6 as a sturdy option for daily carry despite its large internal components.

The camera system features a 200 MP primary sensor with a 1/1.4-inch Samsung ISOCELL HPB chip and Zeiss T* coating. A 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom complete the rear array. Benchmarks suggest the Dimensity 9500 allows the X Fold6 to outperform the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and match the Magic V6. The device starts at CNY 7,999 (around $1,175) for the base 12GB/256GB model in China and is available now.

Vivo confirmed a global release for later this year, but exact pricing and dates remain unknown. The limited edition Black Gold variant costs CNY 11,299 (around $1,660). We touched on Asus Vivobook S14 and S16 Laptops in our earlier Vivo coverage. The X Fold6 establishes a new baseline for battery capacity in the book-style foldable segment while waiting for international availability details.
