Bethesda added camp pets to the public test server for Fallout 76, letting players bring their furry companions on adventures across Appalachia. The update alters player interaction within the open world by lifting a restriction present in earlier versions of the game.
Camp pets accompany players across Appalachia with stay and follow commands only
The PTS build currently limits pet behavior to stay and follow commands. Pets cannot take damage or participate in combat during this phase of testing.
Bethesda updated unique items to include at least three legendary mods and a special effect. The developer fixed the scrip cost for swapping these mods, which previously caused issues during gameplay.
Additionally, the patch modifies technical attributes for a selection of weapons. Players can now increase the clip size on the Lever Action Rifle and craft the Brotherhood Recon Rifle without restrictions. The Fancy Single Action Revolver and Shotgun are now available as weapon skins instead of functional gear.
Bethesda plans to add companion combat in a second phase later this year, but that feature is not present in the current test build. Players can travel around Appalachia and report areas where the experience does not meet expectations while testing the pet system.
