One More Level is weighing a delay for its soulslike action-RPG Valor Mortis. The studio currently targets September 24, but the crowded release window may force a shift.

Developer weighs postponing launch to avoid crowded September release window

Game Director Radoslaw Ratusznik addressed scheduling concerns after the Xbox Games Showcase trailer. He stated that the launch date remains flexible and not locked in place.

The developer cites competition from major titles as the primary reason for potential changes. GTA VI launches on November 19, creating a dominant sales period that could overshadow other September releases.

Valor Mortis joins several high-profile games slated for autumn. Competitors include The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Control Resonant, and Marvel's Wolverine in September.

October offers alternative windows with Gears of War: E-Day, Phantom Blade Zero, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. February 2027 also fills up quickly with titles like the Fable reboot.

Ratusznik noted that the team will evaluate options over the next few days to find the optimal release spot. The studio aims to balance visibility against major industry releases.
