Galax has recently launched an Extreme version of its 5080 graphics card with even higher power limits than the standard reference design. This new model is aimed at hardcore enthusiasts seeking the highest possible clocks and are ready to spend for some special cooling and aesthetics. The high-end GeForce RTX 5080 card is available in China for purchase, although international availability is unknown.

Galax launches a premium GeForce RTX 5080 with 400W power limits and Swarovski crystals

The Galax GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme comes with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory clocked at 30 Gbps with a 256-bit memory interface. This gives the card 960 GB/s of memory bandwidth for gaming and heavy content creation workloads. Galax has added 13 Swarovski crystals for a more premium look, compared to the standard GeForce RTX 5080 cards available for sale.

Specifications

  • GPU Boost Clock: 2,805 MHz (OC mode), 2,655 MHz (Gaming mode)
  • Memory: 16 GB GDDR7, 30 Gbps, 256-bit interface, 960 GB/s bandwidth
  • TGP: 400 W (OC mode), 360 W (Gaming mode)
  • Power Connectors: Two 12V-2×6 connectors (mutually exclusive)
  • Cooling: Four fans (three 102 mm axial, one 92 mm rear), vapor chamber, heat pipes

Galax added a big cooling solution with three 102 mm axial fans and a single 92 mm rear fan. The heatsink design has a large vapor chamber and is equipped with 8 nickel-plated heat pipes. The card dimensions are pretty big, with 347.5 x 158 x 79.1 mm size, which means a bit more attention needs to be paid if you have a smaller PC chassis.

The GPU boost clock is rated at 2,805 MHz (OC mode) and 2,655 MHz (Gaming mode). The power consumption is rated at 400W (OC mode) – that's 40W higher than 's reference design. The card features two 12V-2×6 power connectors but is designed in such a way that you can use only one connector at a time. The display output is represented with three DisplayPort 2.1b connectors and one HDMI 2.1b connector.

The price for the Galax GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme is 19,999 yuan in China (around $2,990). It's unknown if Galax will release this particular model on the other markets. The card comes with the mentioned power and cooling features for users looking for performance, rather than power efficiency.
