5 is coming to Hogwarts Legacy on November 5. Things are changing when it comes to performance and visuals. This update to the technology is key because not only do we have double the speed compared to the initial unveiling but the memory used is less. This means that gamers can sustain a higher frame rate without necessarily requiring more power from their graphics cards. So buyers with RTX should take these optimizations into account when upgrading or building their games library.

NVIDIA confirms Hogwarts Legacy DLSS 5 implementation doubles speed while using 20% VRAM at 4K

When NVIDIA first announced the tech, it was implemented in NBA 2K27 last September. But the Hogwarts Legacy implementation is different. In fact, NVIDIA confirms that it is 2x faster than the initial implementation of the tech. And it's using 20% of VRAM at 4K. So, although we still have some minor visual changes compared to the initial unveiling, there is nothing new when it comes to characters rendering. However, environment lighting and materials have been upgraded but the visuals are still the same in accordance to previous standards.

This release is more about performance boost. In fact, the engine can now go 2x faster than the original DLSS 5 test case. Again, we still have 20% VRAM at 4K gameplay. But that is the key for those systems with limited video memory. Visual fidelity is still quite similar to previous versions. So the speed boost isn't compromising image quality. What we are getting here is something that balances speed and efficiency without major visual overhauls.

Hogwarts Legacy is now among the titles that will feature this technology. Also, Where Winds Meet is going to get DLSS 5 by late November. We covered the last DLSS 5 update and we actually got some similar balance and stability topics in this release. It's subtle. So more about performance boosts than crazy new visual tricks. This ensures that this technology remains accessible and retains its high standard when it comes to image clarity.

NVIDIA is really expanding DLSS 5 across big titles. And they're focusing on performance efficiency and visual consistency. So the update we are getting for Hogwarts Legacy brings us tangible speed boosts along with lesser memory utilization. Also, there are no changes when it comes to character model. So you can expect smoother high resolution gameplay as more games start getting this refined version of the technology.
