Nintendo is launching a new smartphone app called Pictonico on May 28. The app turns digital photos into minigames. It is available on Google Play and the App Store.
Free version includes only three minigames
Pictonico is free to start but includes microtransactions. The free version only offers three minigames. Two paid volumes add more minigames. Volume 1 costs 7.99 USD (about $7.99). Volume 2 costs 5.99 USD (about $5.99).

Pictonico launches globally on May 28. Users can pre-register on Google Play. The App Store link is currently down.
Nintendo confirmed that photos are not sent to the company. The app does not upload user photos to Nintendo servers. Nintendo described the app as a silly way to turn photos into minigames with unpredictable outcomes.
Nintendo has not confirmed the launch window for some regions. The company has not detailed future updates or additional volumes.
