The iQOO Pad Ultra arrives as a dedicated gaming tablet that prioritizes raw input responsiveness and thermal management over traditional media consumption. Buyers who play fast-paced mobile titles will find the high refresh rate and instantaneous touch sampling directly address the lag and overheating issues that often limit handheld performance. This device targets players who need a larger canvas than a phone but want the portability of a slim slate.

Gaming tablet features 5,000Hz touch sampling and active cooling

iQOO revealed the Pad Ultra, an 8.8-inch gaming tablet with a 165Hz OLED display. The screen delivers a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits to ensure visibility in bright environments. The chassis measures just 5.74mm thick and weighs 298g, maintaining a slim profile despite the internal cooling hardware. The all-metal body provides structural rigidity while keeping the device light enough for extended handheld sessions.

Specifications

  • Display Size: 8.8-inch
  • Refresh Rate: 165Hz
  • Peak Brightness: 4,500 nits
  • Thickness: 5.74mm
  • Weight: 298g

The hardware focuses on speed and heat dissipation to sustain performance. The tablet supports up to 500Hz multi-touch sampling and up to 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling for precise input tracking. A built-in active cooling fan spins at a maximum speed of 14,500 rpm to move air through the system. iQOO claims this fan generates an airflow of 0.94 CFM to keep the silicon cool during intense gaming loads.

The device utilizes a new-generation touch system and Monster Super Core Engine for gaming performance. iQOO says the Pad Ultra uses its new-generation Monster Super Core Engine and a self-developed scheduler to optimize resource allocation. These software features work in tandem with the hardware to minimize input latency and maintain stable frame rates. The combination of the high-speed fan and optimized engine aims to prevent thermal throttling during long play sessions.

The Pad Ultra is scheduled to launch in China on September 29, 2026. The release will begin at 7 PM Beijing time. iQOO has not announced international availability or pricing for the device. Consumers outside of China will need to wait for further updates regarding global distribution and cost.

We previously covered the iQOO 16 Display Confirmed in our earlier iQOO coverage, noting the brand's focus on high-refresh screens. The Pad Ultra extends that high-performance display philosophy to a larger tablet form factor. This launch reinforces iQOO's strategy of targeting dedicated mobile gamers with specialized hardware. The company continues to differentiate its products through aggressive cooling and touch specifications.
