Kotobukiya has opened pre-orders for a model kit of Ludens, the mascot of Kojima Productions. This release offers collectors a tangible piece of the studio's branding that they can build themselves. Kojima Productions mascot gets a 19 cm glue-free model kit
The Ludens figure stands 19 cm tall and is constructed from polystyrene, ABS plastic, and polyvinyl chloride. The project is supervised by Yoji Shinkawa, the art director for Kojima Productions. The model arrives with pre-colored parts to maintain the character's distinct visual style. Builders receive four different hand sets and decals to customize the final look.
A key feature of this kit is its snap-fit assembly technology. This method allows the pieces to connect securely without the need for glue. The figure also includes two different eye mask variants for expression changes. These design choices focus on ease of construction while preserving the character's aesthetic.
The model is equipped with 3mm connection points for accessory compatibility. These points allow the figure to use weapons and armor from the M.S.G series. It also supports parts from the Frame Arms and Frame Arms Girl lines. This compatibility expands the display options for collectors who own other mecha models.
The Ludens model kit is priced at 11,000 Japanese Yen, which is around $69.56. Kotobukiya expects the product to be available in March 2027. Buyers can currently secure their copies through pre-order channels. The release marks a new physical product for the studio's mascot line.
