The Division 2 servers are offline on September 24 to install the Red Moon Rising update, which brings fresh content to the PvE Dark Zone. Ubisoft is using this downtime to introduce new gear and adjust gameplay balance for the upcoming season.
New exotic gear and PvP tweaks arrive with the Red Moon Rising update
The Red Moon Rising event runs from September 24 to November 3 and features two new Exotic items. Players can also take advantage of a free play period from September 24 to 28, during which any progress earned will carry over to the live servers. This free window allows users to test the new content without risking their current save data.
The new Vertigo Exotic GR9 applies Disorient when suppressing enemies and grants a 30 percent bonus to Out-of-Cover Damage. The Sarru Exotic Backpack cycles through Moon phases to increase Amplified Damage by up to 25 percent during a Full Moon. These items add new tactical options for players who focus on suppression and amplified damage builds.
Ubisoft is also returning the Rage Harvest Global Event from September 29 to October 6. The update includes PvP balancing adjustments that affect Prototype Augments, Gear and Brand Sets, talents, and SHD Skills. These changes aim to refine the competitive experience alongside the new PvE content.
When we covered the last The Division 2 update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The servers are scheduled to return at 2:30 PM CEST, 8:30 AM EDT, or 5:30 AM PDT after an estimated five-hour downtime. Players should plan their login times around these specific regional windows to avoid further delays.
