Tekken 8 receives a major content drop this week, adding a new playable fighter to the roster while tightening the game's competitive balance. Players who purchased the Season 3 Pass can access the new character Bob immediately, while others must wait for the standard release window. This update also adjusts specific mechanics for Kunimitsu and fixes matchmaking stability issues that have affected recent matches.
New character Bob arrives with system adjustments
The latest patch, version 3.002.001, introduces Bob as a standalone DLC character available for early access starting August 19, 2026. Early access begins at approximately 4:00 PM PDT for Season 3 Pass holders, with general availability following five days later on August 24. Bandai Namco released these changes to expand the fighting game's roster and refine existing character interactions.

According to the development team, the patch implements system adjustments regarding health values and Quick Recovery mechanics. The update also addresses move behavior and resolves various bugs across the game. A specific change targets Kunimitsu in Tekken Ball mode, where thrown kunai now only hit the ball instead of other targets. Matchmaking standby behavior has also changed to pause if players do not provide input in the confirmation dialog.
The patch includes new shop items such as the Aurora Outfit Pack, Fight Pass Round 11, and additional cosmetic packs. These additions provide visual customization options for players who do not need the new character. We looked at the last Tekken 8 update earlier while tracking balance changes, and several of the same stability themes appear here.
Tekken 8 Update 3.002.001 is now live on all supported platforms. Bob joins the roster for early access on August 19 and for all players on August 24. The balance changes and bug fixes apply globally upon installation.
