A Reddit user has built a clamshell conversion of the called the Flip Deck. The build uses an actual Deck that was disassembled and reimagined in a folding form factor.

The Flip Deck includes all face buttons, two back buttons, and trackpads. Joysticks are omitted, though the builder found a workable solution for that. The device is 4mm taller but 100mm shorter than the standard Steam Deck.

No tutorial or shell files are available yet. The builder may share the designs in the future.

The Flip Deck is a community mod that addresses a form factor has not produced. The builder, known as MadMario0_0 on Reddit, shared the project via Pixel Nerd. Details on the joystick workaround remain unclear.
