Pokemon Bank will cease operations at noon on February 26, 2027, Japan time. This shutdown ends the primary method for players to move Pokémon from Nintendo 3DS titles into the modern ecosystem. Owners of older handheld games must act before this deadline to preserve their digital collections.
Final deadline for moving 3DS Pokemon to HOME approaches
The Pokemon Company is managing the final phase of this service lifecycle. The transfer function from Pokemon Bank to Pokemon HOME will shut off at the same time as the main service. New downloads of the app have already stopped, limiting access to existing users only.
Data migration rules are strict for this transition. PokeMile Points in Bank accounts will not carry over to HOME. Users cannot convert these loyalty rewards into the new platform's currency or benefits. The system will simply stop accepting new transfers after the cutoff date.
Pokemon HOME is preparing for broader compatibility in the near future. The service is adding support for Switch versions of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen in October. This update expands the range of classic titles that can interact with the modern storage system. Players can use this window to familiarize themselves with the new interface before the old one disappears.
