The Pokémon Company has set a definitive end date for Pokémon Bank, a long-standing storage service for 3DS players. This shutdown means that anyone holding digital Pokémon in the app must act before the deadline to avoid losing access to their collections. The service will completely cease operations on Thursday, February 25, 2027, at 7:00 p.m. PST.

Players must move their digital creatures to the new app before the deadline

Pokémon Bank functions as a bridge between older Nintendo 3DS titles and modern gaming ecosystems. It allows players to deposit or withdraw Pokémon they have befriended in games on that specific system from online Boxes. The application was originally released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2013 and supported the storage of up to 3,000 Pokémon.

The company has identified Pokémon Home as the designated replacement for this storage functionality. Pokémon Home is available on the , iOS, and Android platforms. Players are advised to transfer their stored Pokémon to this new app before the shutdown date to ensure their data remains accessible.

Pokémon Bank was delisted from the Nintendo 3DS eShop in March 2023 but continued to operate as a free service until now. The official statement confirms that transfers from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home will cease after the service ends. We looked at previous Nintendo eShop delistings earlier while tracking legacy software transitions.
