Asobi: Remote Play lets Steam Deck owners stream PS5 games via cloud without a console. The Linux app offers 1080p/30fps default with a paid 60fps upgrade.

Asobi: Remote Play gives owners a way to stream their own PS5 games to the handheld without needing the console nearby. This app replicates core features of the official PS Portal, letting players access their library from anywhere. We can now test the tool to see if it holds up under real-world conditions.

Linux app enables cloud streaming of owned PS5 titles on handhelds

The application runs natively on the Deck and other Linux-based Steam Machines. It bypasses standard Remote Play limitations by allowing cloud streaming of owned titles directly. The developers are currently building a Windows version to expand support beyond hardware.

  • Resolution: 1080p
  • Frame Rate: 30 fps (default), 60 fps (paid upgrade)
  • Bitrate: up to 100 Mbps
  • Supported Platforms: Steam Deck, Steam Machine (Linux)

Default visuals are locked to 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second in standard dynamic range. Users can pay for an upgrade to unlock 1080p at 60 frames per second. The software supports bitrates up to 100 Mbps to maintain image clarity and reduce latency.

Steam Deck owners report that the image quality is sharper than competing solutions like Chiaki4Deck. Early testers also note that input lag is minimal during gameplay. The app requires an active PS Plus subscription to enable these cloud streaming features.

Some players have encountered issues where they cannot cloud stream their entire PS5 library. A similar program previously vanished from Valve's marketplace without warning, raising questions about long-term availability. The app is now available for testing on Steam. It offers a functional alternative for handheld gamers who want to use their PS5 games on the go. The stability of the service will depend on how Valve handles third-party streaming tools.
