Asus has released a new gaming monitor that pushes refresh rates to a level most displays cannot match. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDPR hits 500 Hz on a QD-OLED panel, which means gamers get smoother motion tracking in fast-paced titles. This update matters because it offers a significant jump in fluidity for competitive players who need every frame to count.

New monitor adds translucent rear cover and tripod mount

The monitor sits in the QHD space with a 2560 by 1440 resolution on a 26.5-inch screen. Asus designed this model with a translucent rear cover and a stand that includes a built-in tripod mount. A small projector on the back displays the ROG logo, which adds a distinct visual flair to the setup.

Specifications

  • Panel Type: 26.5-inch QD-OLED
  • Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (QHD)
  • Refresh Rate: 500 Hz
  • Response Time: 0.03 ms GtG
  • HDR Brightness: 1,000 nits (HDR), 300 nits (SDR)

Display performance centers on a third-generation QD-OLED panel that delivers 1,000 nits of HDR brightness. The panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. Response times hit 0.03 ms GtG, which eliminates ghosting during rapid movements.

Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input. The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments for ergonomic positioning. Asus also includes OLED Care Pro features like Anti-Flicker 2.0 and a Neo Proximity Sensor to manage screen health.

We looked at the Asus ROG Swift OLED Edition 20 in our earlier coverage of high-refresh-rate displays. While the previous model achieved a 540 Hz refresh rate, the new Swift OLED PG27AQDPR features a slightly larger display and distinct design changes. The hardware core remains identical to the similar Strix XG27AQDPG model, ensuring consistent image quality across the lineup.

Asus has not yet announced pricing or specific release dates for this monitor. Buyers will need to wait for official details before making a purchase decision. The hardware specifications are confirmed, but availability remains pending.
