Rision Magic Pro thermal camera for phones launches at $299
ACCESSORIES

Rision launched two compact thermal imaging cameras that turn smartphones into heat-mapping tools. The Magic and Magic Pro models let iPhone and Android users visualize temperature differences in real time. This matters because it adds a professional diagnostic layer to devices most people already carry. Professionals who inspect electrical panels, check insulation, or monitor equipment can now use their phones for basic thermal surveys.

Smartphone thermal imaging accessories with USB-C connectivity

The devices connect to phones via a USB-C cable and draw just 0.32 watts of power. Rision built the units in a lightweight aluminum housing that weighs only 25 grams. The Magic model provides a native resolution of 160 by 120 pixels. The higher-end Magic Pro model steps up to a native resolution of 256 by 192 pixels.

Spec Magic Magic Pro

Both cameras measure temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to +600 degrees Celsius. The manufacturer states that measured values deviate by no more than 2 percent from the actual temperature. Rision includes a feature called AI Dual-Light Fusion that combines the phone's main camera image with thermal data. This overlay creates a high-resolution visual map of heat distribution. The Magic Pro also supports QuadIR Super Resolution, which scales the final image to four times the native resolution.

The Rision Magic costs $119 USD (around $119) with a launch discount. The Magic Pro is priced at $299 USD (around $299). Both models are now available in the manufacturer’s online store.

We looked at similar smartphone thermal accessories earlier while tracking portable diagnostic tools. These new units offer a slim profile and low power consumption compared to bulkier standalone thermal cameras. The devices demonstrate that mobile thermal imaging is moving toward lighter, more integrated hardware solutions.
