Kinetic Games released a hotfix for Phasmophobia on July 28 to address several multiplayer glitches that disrupted the core ghost-hunting loop. Players who dropped items or used photo cameras in co-op sessions experienced physics errors and animation conflicts that made investigations harder. The update, version 1.000.043, stabilizes item interactions and fixes ghost pathfinding issues on specific maps. This patch ensures that equipment behaves predictably during intense investigations.
Kinetic Games patches item physics and ghost pathfinding bugs in latest update
The update targets the hotfix version v0.18.0.1 and builds on the previous Willow Street Rework update. It specifically corrects issues where items would fall through floors or get stuck in multiplayer environments. Ghosts previously exploited pathfinding bugs to enter hiding spots in 13 Willow Street, 6 Tanglewood Drive, 42 Edgefield Road, and 10 Ridgeview Court. These fixes restore the intended difficulty and immersion for players exploring these locations.
Kinetic Games detailed the technical changes in the official patch notes. The developer stated, "Fixed an issue that would cause items to get stuck or fall through the floor when dropped in Multiplayer. Fixed an issue that allowed Ghosts to be able to enter several hiding spots in 13 Willow Street. Fixed an issue that caused Photo Cameras to interfere with other player animations." The team also resolved bugs where the camera took extra photos or failed to play animations when dropped or picked up by other players.
The patch addresses cosmetic and challenge tracking issues alongside technical fixes. Missing Twitch Drop reward ID Card and Badge cosmetics are now correctly applied to player accounts. Videos of Hunting Ghosts previously failed to count toward the Apocalypse challenge, but this tracking is now corrected. Incense usage also registers properly even if the player opens their journal during the animation. VR players benefit from fixed FPS instability in the Truck and loading glitches on Bleasdale Farmhouse.
A known issue regarding flashlight hotkey assignment conflicts remains unresolved and will be addressed in a future patch. We looked at the last Phasmophobia update earlier while tracking recent stability improvements, and this patch continues that trend of targeted fixes. Players can now expect smoother item handling and more reliable ghost detection in their current investigations.
