ACCESSORIES

Keychron is expanding its magnetic switch lineup with the G6 HE UltraLight mouse, a device designed for gamers who prioritize ultra-low weight and customizable input response. This launch introduces a hybrid switch technology that lets users adjust trigger sensitivity without sacrificing the tactile feedback of a traditional mechanical click. Keychron states that the mouse's electromagnetic sensing allows users to fine-tune input response while maintaining a physical click feel.

Hybrid magnetic optical switches and 42 gram weight

The mouse runs on a Nordic nRF54LM20A controller paired with a PixArt PAW3955 optical sensor to ensure precise tracking. Keychron equipped the device with MagOptic switches that use electromagnetic sensing to allow users to switch between optical and magnetic modes. These switches are rated for 100 million clicks, offering significant durability for heavy usage.

Specifications

  • Controller: Nordic nRF54LM20A
  • Sensor: PixArt PAW3955
  • Switches: MagOptic (magnetic/optical hybrid)
  • Dimensions: 123.7 x 63 x 41mm
  • Battery Capacity: 350mAh

Keychron offers two distinct versions of the G6 HE UltraLight to accommodate different weight preferences. The fixed-battery model weighs just 42 grams, while the swappable-battery version starts at 46 grams and includes extra weights to reach 52 or 62 grams. Both models share a 350mAh cell that delivers up to 340 hours of battery life on Bluetooth or around 35 hours on 2.4GHz at an 8kHz polling rate.

The shell is constructed from ABS and PC plastic with a nano-coating to improve grip and reduce wear. Keychron has introduced the G6 HE UltraLight in Japan, with the fixed-battery version starting at 11,968 JPY (around $73.05) and the swappable-battery model starting at 14,344 JPY (around $87.56). These prices reflect the crowdfunding campaign pricing for the initial launch.

We looked at Keychron's previous magnetic switch mice while tracking this launch. The G6 HE UltraLight is now available in Japan, though global release details remain unconfirmed. The device represents a focused update to the company's ultra-lightweight gaming lineup with specific attention to input customization and weight management.
