Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its new Ear Clip-On Headphones in China. The company clarified that its previously mysterious audio device is a pair of clip-on open earbuds. Xiaomi announced this product in May 2024 and confirmed it will launch in China before the end of that month.

New clip-on open earbuds feature LHDC 5.0 and Hi-Res Audio certification.

The earbuds feature LHDC 5.0 support and hold Hi-Res Audio certification. Each earbud weighs 5.5 grams and uses reverse acoustic technology to minimize sound leakage. The device also includes a triple microphone array for audio capture.

Xiaomi has not confirmed global availability for the Ear Clip-On Headphones. The company has not commented on whether the product will reach markets outside of China. Industry observers presume the earbuds will arrive alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max and Smart Band 10 Pro. Xiaomi has not confirmed this timing yet.

The announcement marks Xiaomi's entry into the clip-on open earbud segment. The company positioned the device as a luxury audio accessory. The focus on lightweight design and specific audio codecs suggests a premium market positioning. The lack of confirmed international release details leaves the global impact of this launch uncertain.
