Xiaomi has launched the Smart Door Lock G500 in China. The device combines a video doorbell, security camera, and smart lock into one unit.
Ten unlocking methods and AI-powered alerts
The lock supports ten unlocking methods. Primary options include AI 3D structured light facial recognition and a fingerprint scanner. Other methods include passcode, Bluetooth, and NFC. The built-in 2.3 MP camera offers a 160-degree ultra-wide field of view. An AI algorithm reduces false alerts from pets and wild animals. The inner half of the device has a display for viewing the video stream. It supports HyperOS Connect for smart home integration and can be controlled via the Xiaomi app. The lock body operates with reduced noise. Free cloud storage is available for up to three days.

The Smart Door Lock G500 is priced at 2799 CNY (about $412) in China. It was unveiled on February 19, 2025.
The lock is powered by a 5000 mAh battery pack and four AA batteries, which together provide approximately eight months of runtime. Xiaomi has not confirmed availability outside China.
