Xbox is bringing backward compatibility for original Xbox games to PC and handhelds, giving players access to classic titles on modern hardware. This update lets users play legacy digital licenses on new devices, expanding the library available through Xbox Game Pass. The rollout begins today in supported regions, making four specific games playable immediately.

Four original Xbox games now playable on Windows with upscaling

The feature supports four original Xbox titles: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. These games are available for purchase and included with all Xbox Game Pass plans. Console digital licenses carry over to PC and handhelds via Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

  • Minimum GPU: GTX 950 or Radeon RX 550 or UHD 770 or Intel Arc A310
  • Minimum CPU: Min 4 Cores Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor
  • Minimum RAM: 8GB
  • Minimum OS: Windows 11
  • Recommended GPU: Radeon RX 68005 or Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti or Intel Arc A770

New PC features include up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync support, and customizable graphics and audio settings. The minimum system requirements specify a Windows 11 operating system, 8GB of RAM, and a minimum GPU such as the Nvidia GTX 950 or AMD Radeon RX 550. Recommended specs include a six-core processor like the Intel Core i5-10400 and a GPU such as the Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti.

Achievements will be added to these four titles later in 2026. We touched on Xbox Backward Compatibility Lead Laid Off in our earlier Xbox coverage, noting that staff changes have not halted this platform expansion. The feature is now live for eligible users in supported regions.

The update confirms that original Xbox games are now playable on PC with enhanced visual options. Players can access these titles through existing Game Pass subscriptions or individual purchases. The service extends to handheld devices via cloud gaming and Play Anywhere integration.
