A new visual novel set in the Berlin By Night universe is now playable in demo form. Vampire: The Masquerade – Oaths and Ashes puts consequences front and center, a feature the author says has been missing from developer Draw Distance's recent titles.

Two characters shape the story

Developer Revive the Spark is behind the game. Players take on two characters: Alice, a Ventrue, and Lenz, a Thinblood. The story branches based on choices, with a Masquerade meter, a discipline point system, and a faction-influenced map shaping the experience.

The demo is available on now. The full release is penciled in for 2026. The author calls Oaths and Ashes the most intriguing of the upcoming World of Darkness games.

The game emphasizes player agency and faction dynamics. The Masquerade meter tracks how well you hide your vampire nature, while discipline points let you unlock supernatural abilities. The map changes based on which factions you ally with or oppose.
