Ubisoft is bringing two classic shooters to the Switch 2 in spring 2027. This release gives Switch 2 owners access to titles that defined the modern open-world genre over a decade ago. Buyers who missed the original 2012 launch or the 2018 remaster can finally play these games on the newer console.
Ubisoft ports two classic shooters to Switch 2 for spring 2027 release
The upcoming lineup includes Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition. Ubisoft and Ubisoft Montreal announced these ports for the Switch 2 platform. Both games previously launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition returns players to a dangerous island playground. The game features a single-player open world with diverse environments including mountains, swamps, and beaches. Players fight against enemies led by Vaas, portrayed by Michael Mando.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition offers an 80s-inspired vision of the future. Players control Sergeant Rex Colt, a cyber commando on a mission of vengeance. The game includes updated graphics and gameplay for modern platforms.
We looked at TMNT Arcade earlier while tracking Switch 2 releases. Both Far Cry titles are scheduled for a global release in spring 2027. Players can expect updated visuals and familiar gameplay mechanics on the new hardware.
