PC HARDWARE

TOPC has announced the new TXA2 mini PC. This is a product that's directly competing with AMDs own Halo Workstation. It's got the same kind of high-end specs, but at a much more attractive price.

TOPC TXA2 mini PC offers 192 GB RAM and four M.2 slots at a lower price than AMD Halo

This is an important announcement for potential consumers since it offers a much cheaper way to get into the professional mini PC category. It costs a whopping $900 less than the competitor. For folks who want powerful alternatives to desktop PCs that come in a smaller package, they now have a cheaper option that doesn't carry the premium of the branded workstation computers.

Specifications

  • Processor: Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495
  • Memory: 192 GB LPDDR5X-8533
  • Storage: 4x M.2 2280 slots
  • Networking: 10 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, Wi-Fi 7
  • Price: $6,399

The star of the show here is the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 CPU. This is what's at the heart of this compact beast. It has 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads.

Boost clocks go up to 5.2 GHz when you need the extra oomph. There's an integrated Radeon 8065S GPU with 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. You've got plenty of graphics power for your pro work without needing a separate GPU.

The TXA2 comes packed with a whopping 192 GB of LPDDR5X 8533 unified memory. That's way more than your average consumer mini PC. And for storage, you've got four M.2 2280 SSD slots.

Two of them are running at PCIe 4.0 x4 speed. The other two are PCIe 4.0 x2. This system is made for heavy multitasking and dealing with big datasets.

You've got 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps networking. Wi-Fi 7. Two USB4 ports.

HDMI, DisplayPort. SD card reader. The TXA2 has all the connectivity you need.

The TXA2 starts at 6399 USD (~$6,399). The one with 4 TB storage is 6699 USD (~$6,699). This makes the TXA2 a great affordable option compared to other high-end mini PCs from companies like Minisforum, GMKtec, Acemagic, and Framework.

We've covered the Acemagic F9A Mini PC Launches With (we saw Topc launches as well). That one also uses the same Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 CPU. Be sure to check out the cooling.

After sales service. Software integration. Don't assume the cheaper option is necessarily the best workstation.

We see that third-party companies are now able to offer mini PCs with 192GB RAM. And advanced AI capabilities. All at prices that can directly compete with the big workstation brands.

This is great since it gives pros more options in the mini PC category. You're not stuck in the expensive branded world anymore.
