Embark released version 10.9.0 of The Finals on PC and consoles, introducing a new Team Deathmatch mode called Risk & Reward alongside balance changes to several weapons and abilities. This update also includes the Safehouse Standard Event Pass with 16 items and a new party invite setting for easier squad building.
Client-side patch brings Risk & Reward mode alongside balance adjustments and cosmetic rewards.
The client-side patch carries version number 10.9.0 across all platforms, though console builds display as 1.000.142. Embark deployed an immediate server-side hotfix to address critical hit registration issues that affected falling enemies in specific scenarios.
Risk & Reward operates as a Team Deathmatch mode where players earn cash bonuses based on their loadout choices. The update adjusts weapon cooldowns by reducing Breach Drill from 20 seconds to 15 seconds and increasing Vanishing Bomb from 22 seconds to 25 seconds.
The Safehouse Standard Event Pass provides 16 cosmetic items including the Deadbolt Directive outfit and Trespassers Rejected counter. Embark also introduced an Open to Join toggle for party invites, allowing friends of any party member to join sessions when enabled.
Server performance receives improvements during high-intensity destruction sequences according to developer claims. Xbox Series X|S consoles benefit from reduced game startup times in this update cycle.
