Tecno Spark 50s 5G launches in India with a 6,500mAh battery, 120Hz display, and MIL- STD- 810H durability for around $210.

The Tecno Spark 50s 5G was released in India on October 20, 2026. It's aimed at the budget-minded customer who wants good battery life and the ability to stay connected. It's a mid-range phone with a big 120Hz display and a whopping 6,500 mAh battery to battle the low endurance issues that cheap phones have. It has a starting price of about $210, which is reasonable considering it prioritizes screen quality and robustness over high-end materials.

Rugged smartphone with offline messaging and MediaTek Dimensity 6400

This smartphone comes with Android 16 based HiOS 16 and the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor to balance out efficiency and performance for general usage and some gaming. The phone has a 6.78-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. This should give a nice smooth experience while using the phone. The peak brightness goes up to 560nits, so you should still be able to see the display well in normal outdoor conditions.

Specifications

  • Display: 6.78-inch LCD, HD+ (720 x 1576), 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, 560 nits
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 6400 (6nm)
  • Operating System: Android 16-based HiOS 16
  • Memory/Storage: 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD
  • Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.85 aperture, LED flash

It has a 50MP camera on the back with an f/1.85 aperture and an LED flash. On the front is an 8MP camera. There is a choice of 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

It also has a microSD card slot to add up to 2TB more. Other specs include dual 5G SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It's a pretty tough phone. It has an IP64 Pro rating and MIL-STD-810H certification to withstand dust, splashes, and rough handling. Tecno says their 4×4 MIMO antenna can increase download speeds by as much as 82% compared to regular ones.

There's also something called FreeLink which lets you make voice calls, send text, and share images up to 1.5km away between compatible devices without cellular or Wi-Fi connection. We've covered the Tecno Spark 50 Pro in the past. It's all about using Sony's camera sensors. But this one is all about ruggedness and battery capacity.

The 6GB+128GB version of this phone will cost Rs 19,999 INR ($210 about) and the 8GB+128GB version will be Rs 22,999 INR ($242 about). It started selling in India on October 20, 2026. There seems to be some confusion about whether it'll only be available on Amazon or if there are offline stores selling it too. It comes with a 45W wired fast charger that should be good at charging the 6,500mAh battery.

So the Tecno Spark 50s 5G is a rugged smartphone with a big battery, all for less than $250. It's got a big 120Hz LCD screen and a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor and a 6,500mAh battery so it'll last you a long time. If you want a rugged phone with some offline communication features and expandable storage, you can get this one directly and for the prices listed above.
