Capcom is bringing the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo to Switch 2 players this week. This release matters because it gives console owners a chance to test the combat system before the full game launches. Players can finally experience the action on Nintendo's latest hardware without waiting for the September release.

Capcom adds second quest to Switch 2 version ahead of full launch
The demo features protagonist Miyamoto Musashi fighting through the Oni Refuge. This new area includes a second quest that was not available in earlier versions. The demo also introduces Daidara, a new boss that players must defeat to progress.
Onimusha Way of the Sword is scheduled to launch on September 4. The full game will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. This multi-platform release ensures that players on any major system can join the action.
We have been tracking Onimusha: Way of the Sword closely — see our earlier coverage on Onimusha. The demo was previously available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC since June. Switch 2 owners now have access to the same content with the added new quest.
