STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT players waiting for the Xbox Series version need to adjust their calendars. The publisher has moved the release date back by more than two months to synchronize with other western console platforms. This delay means Xbox owners cannot access the game alongside the initial PC and Japanese console launch.
Xbox version joins western consoles in late October
Spike Chunsoft confirmed the change in a statement, citing the need to align the Xbox release with the broader western console schedule. The company apologized for the inconvenience to fans anticipating the Xbox Series X|S version. The delay does not affect the PC release or the Japanese launch of other platforms.
The game will launch on PC via Steam on August 20, 2026, as originally planned. In Japan, the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch versions also arrive on that same date. These platforms follow the initial global schedule without interruption.
The Xbox Series version joins the western console lineup on October 29, 2026. This new date aligns the Xbox release with the PlayStation 5, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions in western regions. The publisher stated the postponement ensures a coordinated launch across all western hardware.
