Sony has announced a preliminary settlement agreement worth $7.8 million to resolve accusations regarding digital store monopolization practices on the PlayStation Store.

The compensation will be issued as PSN wallet credits rather than cash refunds for qualifying purchases made between April 1, 2019 and December 31, 2023.

Eligibility requires that a game had a GSV available at retail prior to April 1, 2019 with at least 200 redemptions before that date, and the post-discount price increased by at least fifty cents during the settlement window.

The Saveri Law Firm states that consumers who do not request exclusion from the Settlement Class by July 2, 2026 will remain members of the class if they take no action.

Insider Gaming reports that the estimated compensation per qualifying purchase ranges from around $1 to $3 based on the specific terms of the settlement agreement.
