Sandisk is bringing a new line of officially licensed NVMe SSDs to the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. The Optimus GX PRO 850P comes with an integrated heatsink and the PlayStation logo. It promises read speeds up to 7,300 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,600 MB/s, which Sandisk claims is faster than the internal PS5 storage.

The drive uses the NVMe interface and fits the PS5's expansion slot. Sandisk offers capacities of 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. The 8TB model can store up to 200 games, based on an average install size of 36GB.

Pricing starts at 379.99 USD for the 1TB version. The 2TB model costs 759.99 USD, and the 4TB version is 1,499.99 USD. The 8TB model is priced at 2,959.99 USD, down from 3,699.99 USD. All prices are launch discounts.
