A recent datamine of Capcom's upcoming title Resident Evil Requiem has revealed a significant amount of cut content from the game's development. The findings, originally shared on social media by users DuskGolem and umesooooo, detail several features that did not make it into the final product. These discoveries offer a glimpse into the scope of the game before its release.

Removed elements include toxic ammo and investigation tutorials

The cut content includes a Merchant-type character equipped with a full weapon customization screen. This feature mirrors the iconic shopkeeper from previous entries in the series. The datamine also highlights a sub-mission list structure similar to that found in Resident Evil 4. Players would have been able to select specific tasks rather than following a linear path.

Additional removed elements involve combat mechanics and character interactions. A Professional Difficulty setting was identified, which introduced a seizure mechanic for the protagonist Leon. The game also featured Toxic Ammo and Combustion Ammo, allowing players to switch between different bullet types. A blood collection kit served as an enhancement drug to boost Leon's stamina and critical hit rate.

Further cut content included a tutorial for repairing a broken motorcycle and a map design that allowed Leon and Grace to appear on screen simultaneously. An animation depicting the character Emily being abducted by zombies was also removed. The datamine suggests the game had complex investigation mechanics with dedicated tutorials for murder scenes.

Insider Gaming reported on these findings, noting the inclusion of the seizure mechanic and the Merchant character. The accuracy of these datamine findings remains unconfirmed, as the information is derived from social media posts that may contain speculative data. Capcom has not officially commented on the specific cut features revealed in this leak.
