Tarsier Studios released a patch for Reanimal on August 28 that fixes several game-breaking bugs and improves visual fidelity. This update matters to players because it resolves issues that previously prevented progress or crashed the game entirely. Buyers on PC and Switch 2 can now expect a more stable experience without the previous visual glitches.

Patch resolves boot crashes and improves visual fidelity

The patch, version 1.000.012, targets specific technical failures across supported platforms. It addresses crashes on boot for PC users running DirectX 12 and fixes black screen issues for those using DirectX 11. The studio also resolved a softlock in the Mall area that trapped players when jumping down a hatch.

Visual improvements form a major part of this release, particularly for high dynamic range displays. The update adds support for HDR10+ and improves overall color and contrast settings. Tarsier Studios stated, "We have made several fixes and improvements to HDR, including improved quality and a fix for an issue where the wrong DLSS setting was displayed in the UI. We have also made improvements to color and contrast and added support for HDR10+."

Switch 2 crossplay functionality is temporarily unavailable while the patch rolls out to all users. Once the deployment completes, crossplay will resume as intended. The update also addresses specific bugs related to The Prisoner DLC, ensuring that content integrates correctly with the base game.
