PC gamers who have waited a decade for a playable version of the P.T. teaser finally have an option that does not rely on emulation. Modder LoreanXavier released a native port that lets users experience the 2014 Kojima Productions short on modern hardware. The project matters because it removes the need for a PS4 console or legacy emulation layers to run the iconic horror demo.

Modder rebuilds Kojima Productions teaser in C++ with Vulkan renderer
The port rebuilds the original game logic in C++ and uses a Vulkan renderer instead of emulating the PS4 architecture. LoreanXavier stated that every level, model, texture, sound, script, and cutscene loads at run time from the user's own PS4 game dump. There is no game data included in the repository or installer, so players must provide their own copy of the original software.
System requirements include Windows 10 or 11 on x64, or Linux x86-64 with glibc 2.38 or newer. The software requires a GPU and driver that support Vulkan 1.3. LoreanXavier added support for modern upscaling technologies, including AMD FSR 3.1, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with a choice of model, and Intel XeSS. Frame generation is available through AMD FSR 3 on Radeon RX 5000 series or newer, and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40 series or newer.
The port also includes experimental VR support through OpenXR. Additional features added to the PC version include a photo mode, a free camera, and a museum mode for exploring the environment. The project is available for free download from GitHub. Users can start playing immediately if they have the required system specifications and the original game file.
This release marks the first time the P.T. teaser is fully playable on PC without emulation barriers. The native port preserves the original experience while adding modern rendering and upscaling capabilities. Players who own the original PS4 game can now access the content on their desktop or laptop systems.
