Nintendo has confirmed price increases for the Switch 2 and other models. The Switch 2 now costs $499.99 in the US, with changes effective September 2026.

Price hikes also affect older Switch models in Japan

In the US, the Switch 2 will cost 499.99 USD (about $500), up from $449.99. European pricing rises to 499.99 EUR (about $587), while Canadian buyers will pay 679.99 CAD (about $498). Japan sees the largest relative jump, with the Switch 2 going to 59980 JPY (about $383).

Other models are affected only in Japan. The Switch OLED now costs 47980 JPY (about $306), the base Switch is 43980 JPY (about $281), and the Switch Lite is 29980 JPY (about $191).

The new prices go into effect on September 1, 2026 in the US, Europe, and Canada. Japan's increases start earlier, on May 25, 2026. Nintendo has not commented on the reasons for the adjustments.
