The third major patch for NHL 27 was released by EA Sports on October 20. The new patch (1.005, which also appears as 01.005.000 in the game's client) makes some pretty big changes to gameplay on the virtual rink. Specifically, it aims to improve the gameplay elements that really affect the result of the game and how you control it. Players who want to really master the game by stickhandling and goalie positioning in particular will definitely notice some differences in how those dynamics work.

EA Sports patches goalie AI, shot selection, and HUT stability
EA Sports said that you'll see it in the download with those version numbers. The last update, patch 1.004, patched some online desync issues and animation bugs.
This new patch includes tweaks to the goalie and offensive AI gameplay. There's a lower success rate on stride-deke moves against goalies, and save accuracy adjustments for high-reach shots. Also, AI shots are taking advantage of more realistic shot decision-making – e.g., no more slap shots at low percentage scenarios. Pressure has faster zone decay and lower fatigue penalty multiplier.
For Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) mode, the patch fixes crashes in Edit Lines, and it also addresses issues with lineup combination boost issues. There are new line combination filters added, for position, type of collection, league, team, nationality, etc. There are also audio fixes – new goal songs for the New York Rangers. Also fixed are the pronunciations for Eric Daze and Brad Lambert.
In addition, there are new center ice models for NHL, AHL, and CHL teams. New uniforms for AHL, ECHL, CHL, Liiga, DEL. Fixes in Franchise and Be a Pro.
Issues with salary perks. Captaincy challenge. Fixes for CPU vs CPU crashes. Fixes for hub crashes and stats issues for World of CHEL and EASHL mode.
