CI Games released update 1.114 for Lords of the Fallen on August 15, shifting how players unlock boss weapon abilities. This change removes the need to complete specific side quests to access special attacks, allowing players to use these moves as soon as they meet the required stat thresholds. Players who previously completed these quests now receive upgrade materials instead of the attack unlocks. This change allows players to access boss weapon special attacks immediately upon meeting stat requirements, rather than completing specific quests.

Patch 1.114 unlocks boss abilities via stats and fixes co-op save corruption

The patch also addresses several stability and logic errors that affected save files and special attack mechanics. Save files no longer incorrectly switch from Veteran to Legacy mode after leaving a Shared Co-op session. Full Entitlement players who loaded a save file previously got teleported to the beginning of the game, but this issue is now fixed. The update resolves issues where save files incorrectly changed difficulty settings in co-op sessions and where players were teleported to the start of the game upon loading saves.

Several specific weapon bugs involving the Soulflay Charge system have been corrected. Saint Latimer’s Relic Spear 1H special attack can no longer be used indefinitely when the player has only 0.5 Soulflay Charges. The 2H special attack for the same weapon no longer appears to consume an incorrect number of charges. The Hushed Saint’s Halberd 1H special attack is now available when the player has exactly 1 Soulflay Charge, resolving a previous unavailability issue. The Queen’s Head Hammer 1H special attack can no longer be used without the required 2 Soulflay Charges.

CI Games updated the localization package to align controller terminology with platform standards in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, and Russian. The update also added full Russian localization support. New tutorials for Boss Weapons and Special Attacks were included to help players understand the updated mechanics. We looked at the last Lords of the Fallen update earlier while tracking balance changes, and this patch continues that focus on stability and clarity.

The update confirms that boss weapon special attacks are now tied directly to stat requirements rather than quest completion. Players can access these abilities immediately upon meeting the necessary thresholds. The patch resolves specific charge consumption errors for multiple weapons and fixes save file corruption issues. Russian localization is now available for the first time.
