Last Epoch enters its fifth season on October 1, 2024, with Eleventh Hour Games releasing patch 1.5. This update reshapes the core gameplay loop by introducing a high-risk random event that ties enemy kills directly to character buffs. Players who enjoy challenging endgame content will find new objectives that demand careful resource management and combat precision. The changes apply to both the main campaign and the Echo Mode, offering fresh incentives for veteran and new players alike.
Eleventh Hour Games releases patch 1.5 with new seasonal content
The centerpiece of Season 5 is the new random event called Morditas's Fury. This event appears in the campaign starting from Chapter 2 and is also available in Echo Mode. It centers around a blood crystal and a shadow follower that tracks player progress. The event mechanics create a dynamic difficulty curve where every kill extends the timer and fuels the boss's power.
According to Eleventh Hour Games, the event mechanics rely on a unique charge system. "When you kill enemies, Morditas's shadow takes their souls. In return, you receive charges of blood fury, which are displayed on the event progress bar under the mini-map. Morditas will also give you blood fury buffs: for each charge of blood fury received, one of 28 powerful buffs is randomly selected, which will be active throughout the challenge." This system replaces static difficulty with a variable reward structure based on player performance.
Completing the Morditas's Fury event unlocks three new challenges and a final boss fight. The final encounter takes place in the 'Circle of Frozen Blood' echo, where players face resurrected enemies in a blood ice arena. Patch 1.5 also introduces new skills for various classes and balance changes to factions. These adjustments aim to refine the existing combat systems while supporting the new seasonal content.
Eleventh Hour Games has confirmed that patch 1.5 is now live for all platforms. The update serves as the foundation for Season 5 content and remains available until the next seasonal shift. Players can access the new event and challenges immediately through the standard game client.
