Intel quietly expanded its Arrow Lake-HX processor lineup with the Core Ultra 7 251HX. A recent benchmark leak from a hardware leaker shows this new mid-range mobile chip delivering strong multi-threaded performance. The data indicates the chip achieves scores comparable to Intel's previous generation flagship while using significantly fewer cores.
Leaked Cinebench R23 data highlights efficiency gains over previous generation flagship
The Core Ultra 7 251HX features an 18-core configuration split into six performance and twelve efficiency cores. Benchmarks from a leak show the processor scoring nearly 30,000 points in the multi-threaded Cinebench R23 test. This result matches the score of the older Core i9-14900HX despite having six fewer total cores.

Power efficiency appears to be a major advantage for the new chip under moderate loads. The leak indicates the 251HX crosses the 20,000 point mark in Cinebench R23 at just 50 watts of power draw. In comparison, the Core i9-14900HX requires approximately 60 watts to reach that same performance threshold.
The leak also included data for a higher-end variant called the Core Ultra 7 255HX. That chip outperformed both the new 251HX and the older i9-14900HX as expected in the benchmark run. The results suggest Intel is shifting its mobile architecture toward better performance-per-watt ratios.
Independent third-party testing remains necessary to confirm real-world laptop performance and thermal behavior for these Arrow Lake-HX processors. A single leaked test result provides only a partial picture of how the chips will perform in consumer devices.
