CONSOLES

Alkimia Interactive released a console hotfix for Gothic 1 Remake on June 25 to address critical gameplay blockers. This update matters because it restores functionality for players stuck on specific quests or facing data loss risks. The patch targets console builds to ensure stable progress through the game's early and mid-game sections.

Patch restores quest functionality and savegame profiles

The developer deployed version 1.0.2 for consoles, which appears to players as update build 1.000.008. This release follows the previous patch 1.0.1, which introduced a lockpick indicator and fixed crashes. The continuity suggests Alkimia is actively refining the console experience based on player feedback.

  • Console Hotfix Version: 1.0.2
  • Console Update Build: 1.000.008
  • Fixed Interaction Bug: Interaction with Xardas’ Demon not working
  • Savegame Improvements: Improved savegame/profile logic; Added functionality to recover savegame profiles
  • Crash Fix: Fixed crash after interacting with a document that has pictures

The hotfix resolves a bug where interaction with Xardas’ Demon failed to trigger. It also corrects a crash that occurred after players interacted with documents containing pictures. Additionally, the update fixes an issue where Baal Lukor would not die in the Orc Cemetery for some players.

Alkimia improved savegame and profile logic to prevent data loss during gameplay. The team added functionality to recover savegame profiles that exist but do not appear in the game menu. The patch also corrects magic crime instigator assignment logic and fixes relationship errors in the Free Mine raid.

When we covered the last gothic 1 remake update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. This latest release continues that trend by prioritizing quest progression and save integrity over new features. Console players should install this update to avoid these known blockers.

The update is now available for download on consoles. Players with affected quests or save issues can resolve them by installing version 1.000.008. This fix ensures smoother progression through the game's core narrative sections.
