Alkimia Interactive released update 1.000.009 for Gothic 1 Remake, bringing the game to version 1.0.3 with a wide range of stability, quest, and performance fixes available now on all platforms. This update matters to players who have been stuck on the Focus Stones or Trial of Fire quests due to bugs. The patch resolves those specific blockers and improves long-session performance on handhelds. Players can finally complete their playthroughs without manual workarounds for unkillable NPCs or endless conversations.

Patch resolves Focus Stones and Trial of Fire blockers for handheld players

The update is available simultaneously on all platforms on July 2. Alkimia Interactive confirmed that this is not a staggered release. The developer addressed technical fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and chapter-specific issues. The studio stated they expect to sort out a lot more in this major update.

Fixes include crash stability, audio issues while swimming, NPC teleportation bugs, and UI input blockers. Mission-specific fixes address quest blockers in Focus Stones, Mercenary Rank Up, and Trial of Fire. Improvements cover large creature navigation, AI positioning, NPC clipping, and performance during long sessions. The developer grouped these changes to resolve critical quest blockers and stability issues for handheld players.

Balancing changes increase damage for Minecrawler in the End Boss sequence and stats for Frost Shadow Beast. These adjustments aim to improve the overall gameplay experience. The patch notes highlight the importance of resolving game-breaking issues for a smoother experience. Handheld PC owners get immediate fixes for issues that hinder the portable gaming experience.

We looked at the last Gothic 1 Remake update earlier while tracking similar balance and stability themes. That previous patch also addressed console bugs and stability concerns. The current update continues this trend of refining the game for all platforms. The release brings the game to version 1.0.3 with simultaneous availability across all platforms.
