Sony is releasing a major content update for Ghost of Yotei on October 1, bringing new story content and gameplay modes to players. New story expansion and roguelike survival mode arrive October 1 alongside Complete Edition
The headline addition is a story expansion titled Echoes of Sekigahara. Sony describes the plot as splitting between the present day and flashbacks to the protagonist Atsu’s time on the mainland. Players will meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who arrives in Ezo, while exploring a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his gang, the Vipers. The narrative also covers Atsu’s experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara.

Alongside the story expansion, Sony is introducing a new combat survival mode called Most Wanted. Ghost of Yotei delivers a touching samurai epic that fulfills much of the promise of its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima. VGC notes that the game delivers a hugely enjoyable open-world experience that almost rids itself of Tsushima’s bloat. The new content aims to extend this enjoyment by adding fresh narrative and mechanical layers to the existing foundation.
The DLC bundle is priced at $14.99 USD (around $14.99) for existing owners of the game. A Complete Edition of the game is available immediately for $69.99 USD (around $69.99).
