Arjan Brussee, a former Epic Games director and co-founder of Guerrilla Games, is developing a new game engine called Immense Engine.

Engine aims for gaming and defense simulations.

The engine is designed as a European alternative to Unreal Engine and Chinese engines. It will comply with European rules and regulations. Brussee plans to fully integrate AI into the engine. The engine targets gaming as well as other applications like 3D simulations for defense or logistics.

Brussee said, "The rise of AI means that we need to approach the development of this kind of crucial software differently. As an old hand with a vision of how things should work, I see opportunities there… If you are smart and know how to put a good framework of AI agents to work, you can do the work of ten or fifteen people."

The announcement comes from an interview with De Technoloog. Brussee has not confirmed a release timeline or pricing for the Immense Engine.
