Dlala Studios announces self-published action adventure Murals for PC

Murals places players in a world built from familiar-ish fairy tales, fables, and other fictional settings. The game is set within familiar-ish fairy tales, fables, and other fictional worlds. Players will navigate this unique backdrop while engaging in the game's core action-adventure mechanics. The game features a distinct visual identity set within familiar-ish fairy tales, fables, and other fictional worlds.

A key figure in the game is Magic Dave, a scarecrow-like apothecary voiced by UK comedian Bob Mortimer. Dave provides players with power-ups called Eeries, which form the basis of the combat system. The studio has emphasized that combat feels great and allows players to experiment with unique setups to defeat enemies. This system avoids traditional roguelike structures, meaning power-ups are retained as players progress through the game.

Dlala Studios is handling the publishing of Murals themselves rather than partnering with an external publisher. Head of publishing Marcus Purvis stated that the team is taking advantage of the creative freedom that entails. This self-publishing model places the full responsibility for the game's release on the studio's shoulders. The team expressed excitement about managing the project from development through to launch.

The announcement confirms that Murals is an original IP from Dlala Studios, marking a significant milestone in their development history. The studio will self-publish the title, retaining full creative control over the project.
