Discord has introduced a new perk tier called Nitro Rewards for its Nitro subscribers. This update coincides with the platform's 10-year anniversary. The company aims to provide benefits that extend beyond the Discord application into the broader gaming ecosystem.
Members earn monthly Orbs and Quest boosts alongside gaming perks
Subscribers gain access to the starter edition of Xbox Game Pass at no extra cost. This inclusion provides 10 hours of cloud gaming per month. Members can also earn up to $25 annually in Xbox Store Rewards. The program features exclusive discounts of 30 percent off at Logitech G, 15 percent off SteelSeries, and 20 percent off KontrolFreek.
Nitro members receive 250 Orbs automatically each month. The program also offers a 20 percent boost on Orbs earned when completing Quests. Lu Zhang, senior director of product at Discord, stated that the initiative reflects how members spend their time as players. The company views Xbox as a flagship partner alongside Logitech and SteelSeries.
Discord plans to add more benefits as the program grows. The company intends to continue looking for opportunities to expand the reward structure. This expansion targets the intersection of software services and gaming communities.
