Capcom has seen a significant visual upgrade for Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata through a new third-party modification. Modder JoHien released a Graphics Enhancement Mod that pushes the visual fidelity of both titles beyond their native capabilities. The update focuses on expanding ray tracing settings and improving path tracing performance for PC players.

New Ray Tracing Ultra mode exceeds in-game High cap settings

The mod introduces a new Ray Tracing Ultra mode that exceeds the in-game High cap. It enables ray tracing for translucent geometry such as glass and foliage. The update also adds support for RTAO and XeGTAO. Path tracing receives increased ray bounces and experimental support for ReSTIR GI. Resident Evil Requiem gains strand-based shadow rendering for hair within the path tracing pipeline. Pragmata allows users to disable the shadow map fallback for native path tracing shadows.

Users can download the modification for both games from Nexus Mods. The release is available globally without regional restrictions. JoHien notes that the new Ray Tracing Ultra mode delivers performance that sits between Ray Tracing High and full Path Tracing. Players should expect a noticeable performance hit when enabling these enhanced settings.

The mod aims to reduce noise issues inherent in the original ray tracing implementations. However, the improved denoising may introduce ghosting artifacts in some scenes. This trade-off allows for cleaner images at the cost of potential visual smearing during motion.
