Kojima Productions and Nixxes have released Title Update 1.8 for Death Stranding 2, addressing several technical issues and adding platform-specific features. The patch targets performance stability across multiple hardware configurations and improves the user experience on PlayStation systems.

The update resolves a bug where VSync would not restore correctly after enabling or disabling frame generation. It also fixes an issue where VSync remained enabled when activating , ensuring consistent display behavior during gameplay adjustments.

Intel XeSS Frame Generation receives an update to the latest version in this patch. The update includes support for Multi Frame Generation and XeLL on compatible GPUs, enhancing performance options for users with supported hardware.

Visual improvements include better distant terrain texture quality at high and very high settings. The patch also addresses a rare progression bug that prevented Main Order advancement after saving and loading in Magellan's private room, resolving a blocking issue for some players.

Map marker placement and removal issues occurring below 30 FPS have been resolved. Additionally, the update adds support for C/GL/GR button icons on the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, improving compatibility with that peripheral.
