Pearl Abyss released a hotfix for Crimson Desert to address stability issues that disrupt gameplay. This update targets specific hardware configurations where crashes prevent players from progressing. Users with older graphics cards or those who rely on photo mode will see immediate improvements. The patch ensures a smoother experience for those encountering these technical barriers.
Patch resolves crashes on AMD RX 5000 GPUs and Photo Mode HDR toggles
The update brings the PC version of the game to version 1.12.02. Console players receive update version 1.000.358. Both versions apply the same set of fixes to resolve critical errors. This synchronization ensures consistent stability across different platforms.
The patch resolves a crash that occurred when players set the resolution to 1080p on AMD RX 5000 Series graphics cards. It also fixes a crash in Photo Mode when users turn off HDR after enabling it. Additionally, the developers corrected an issue where certain ocean areas were incorrectly marked as No Fishing Zones. These changes remove obstacles that previously blocked specific gameplay actions.
Some known issues remain unresolved in this release. Players using NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs may still see a white screen if they enable FSR Upscaling and Frame Generation. Users of FSR4 upscaling might experience visual glitches in rainy environments, such as disappearing rain or blurry screens. These problems persist despite the new fixes.
When we covered the last crimson desert update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. This hotfix continues the developer's focus on resolving specific hardware-related bugs. The changes improve reliability for a subset of the player base without addressing all potential graphical errors.
Pearl Abyss has distributed the hotfix to address the most disruptive crashes. Players on AMD RX 5000 Series and those using Photo Mode should see immediate stability gains. The update leaves some FSR-related issues for future patches.
