Bmax has announced the MaxMini B12 Power, a small desktop PC that packs high-end CPU performance into a tiny form factor. The significance of this launch is the ability to have a 16-core processor and 24 GB of RAM, all within a small enough form factor that can be easily placed on a desk without being very noticeable. This provides a tangible solution to those seeking a high-performance but space-efficient alternative to traditional tower PCs.
Bmax MaxMini B12 Power launches with 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 and 24 GB RAM for under $1,000
The MaxMini B12 Power is built around the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU. This processor is 16-core, making it capable of handling heavy workloads and multitasking effectively. The GPU in this system is the integrated Intel Arc 8-core iGPU, which is integrated into the CPU. The system comes with 24 GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 1 TB M.2 SSD. Users can expand the storage if they wish.
Specifications
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 185H (16-core)
- RAM: 24 GB LPDDR5
- Storage: 1 TB M.2 SSD
- GPU: Intel Arc 8-core iGPU
- Dimensions: 126 x 112 x 52 mm
The MaxMini B12 Power has a small size of 126x112x52mm, making it ideal for fitting into tight spaces. It only weighs around 390 grams, so it's lightweight and portable. There's dual USB 3.2 Type-A and USB 2.0 Type-A, as well as HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery functionality.
The system supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity. It also has a 2.5G Ethernet port for fast and reliable wired internet connectivity. There's a 3.5 mm audio jack for audio devices. Bmax says the performance of the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H is on par with modern mid-range processors such as the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 and Intel Core Ultra 5 338H in synthetic tests.
It has a price tag just below $1,000 USD for the global market. It's available for purchase on the Bmax website and on Amazon with a sale. The integrated GPU performance is similar to the AMD Radeon 890M. It's about 10% slower than the Nvidia GTX 1650 Mobile GPU. This makes the B12 Power a good choice for those that need a powerful CPU without paying for a discrete GPU.
