Best Buy has opened a virtual storefront inside the Fortnite Creative map Drive City, giving players a new place to spend their in-game time. This collaboration brings retail branding directly into the game world, allowing fans to interact with the electronics chain in a digital environment. It matters because it expands the scope of Fortnite's Creative mode beyond standard combat into themed, interactive experiences.
Collect tags to unlock exclusive cosmetics in the new map
The virtual store exists within the Drive City map, which players can access using the island code 6246-3089-1172. This location is distinct from the main Battle Royale island, meaning players need to specifically navigate to this Creative map to participate. Epic Games and Best Buy have designed this space to function as an in-game destination rather than a simple advertisement.
Engagement with the Best Buy store revolves around collecting virtual tags scattered throughout the map. Players must gather 10 Best Buy Tags to unlock a Best Buy-themed Back Bling cosmetic item. Reaching the next milestone of 20 tags unlocks the Best Buy Grappler, a movement cosmetic that changes how players traverse the map.
Beyond the main store, the Drive City map offers two additional Best Buy experiences called Meet Up and Toy Box. These areas are accessible via their own specific island codes, providing variety for players who have already explored the primary store. The collaboration focuses entirely on these in-game activities, quests, and items without introducing any real-world purchasing mechanics.
