DICE is rolling out the Season 3 Final Phase for Battlefield 6 on June 30, bringing targeted adjustments to gunplay, vehicle balance, and user interface elements. These changes aim to simplify navigation and reward precise shooting mechanics for players who prioritize accuracy and recoil control. The update addresses long-standing feedback regarding weapon consistency and front-end clutter, offering a more streamlined experience for both new and veteran players.

New infantry mode and gunplay tweaks arrive June 30

The developer introduces a new infantry-only mode called Tactical Obliteration, which requires teams to destroy two of three enemy M-COM stations without the use of vehicles. This mode features shorter match timing and focused layouts to encourage fast-paced, close-quarters combat. Additionally, the Casual Battle Royale mode now includes bots to create more manageable engagements and smoother match flow for players seeking a less competitive environment.

Gunplay updates focus on adjusting recoil patterns and bullet spread mechanics to make shots feel more consistent and reward accurate aiming. DICE explicitly states that these changes are designed to reward good aim, proper shooting technique, and understanding of weapon characteristics. Vehicle balance sees Thermal Smoke become less effective at reducing incoming damage and no longer remove C4 charges upon activation. RPGs receive a slight damage increase against tanks and helicopters to improve their viability in vehicle combat scenarios.

User experience improvements include a new ‘Mark All Seen’ button that clears markers across Loadouts, Battle Pass, Store, Profile, Challenges, and Play sections. The goal is to reduce clicks and provide a clearer overview of active events. XP Booster logic now applies a partial multiplier to Match Bonus if the booster expires mid-match, ensuring players still receive credit for active time. In Battle Royale, Armory Crates reset and become lootable again when the Second Chance feature is disabled globally in a match.

New Recon gadgets, the Hardware Suppression System and Handheld Jammer, are added to Battle Royale for the first time. The Wet Work event introduces contract-focused gameplay to Multiplayer and REDSEC modes. We looked at the last battlefield 6 update when several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The patch is expected to release a day before the June 30 launch date, though the final phase officially rolls out on that day.
